I was reading my new to me, 1994 owners manual last night. Under engine specs, it listed different WOT speeds.

Standard TBI listed 43 mph@WOT, while the optional TBI list 45 mph @WOT.

So what's the deal?

I think Std eng. was chevy/indmar 350 rated @ 275HP. "Optional" was chevy/indmar/corvette (LT1) 350 rated somewhere between 309 and 319 HP depending on what you read.

That may be it.

Just sold my 1994 prostar 190 w/ standard 275hp tbi. Good Luck getting 43 mph out of it. Optional engine ( I think )was the Lt corvette engine

Nope, LT-1 was listed as third engine option, 47 mph @ WOT.

There are some little tweaks, that can be done to the TBI, for a little more top-end. (Usually, at the expensive of low-end responsiveness.)
Basically, raising fuel nossle slightly, adjusting fuel pressure, and a spacer plate under tbi.

Extra 2 mph, not that big of a deal.

Just curious. Thanks.

You could prop it more for speed but then you will loose low end pick up. You get one or the other. What is the most important is what are the wot rpms now?

G-man, I was just curious, about what constitutes optional carb.

Goes without saying about reproping. When I switched, to a CNC 3 blade OJ, didn't have any (noticeable) low end lost and gained top-end. (Fastest TRISTAR, in three counties!)

What part of Texas? Howdy.
