I was winterizing the boat and was thinking. Why don't I put a T connection on the raw water line just after where it comes up from the thru hull fitting and before the impeller. Then I can have short peice of garden hose in the motor compartment connected to the t-fitting next time I want to start to boat in the drivewway just grab the garden hose from in the motor compartment and attach a the garden hose from the spickit and turn the water on no more crawling under the boat with the fake-a-lake.I am going to install a on/off valve on the short peice of garden hose so water won't come into the bilge when the boat is in the water.
Do you guys think this will work??

You may need to "plug" the raw water grate on the bottom of the boat to make this work. SkiDIM sells something that does exactly what you are describing, but is a little more then just a T.

You'll need a shut-off valve (ball valve) between the "t" fitting and the thru-hull pickup also. That way the water from the garden hose won't run out the bottom of the boat onto the ground. Just remember to open that valve before running the engine in the spring, or you won't get any water to the engine from the lake.

The flush pro does the same thing, easier to install too.

The Flush Pro is OK, but it can break, doesn't have a shut-off capability as USCG apparently now requires, is made of plastic, and does have some flow restriction. I think it was Tom023 that made this valve for that reason.

The dealer I bought mine from installed that as SOP on all new boats. Very convenient to have.
