I want to talk to any x45 owners about their boat. I have a Maristar 210 dressed up like an X-10 and want to move up to a larger boat, either an X-30 or an X-45.
Anyone willing to talk?

I have a 03 X30 (for sale), and an 06 X-30 on the way. It and the X-45 are big boats, lots of room. I have not ridden behind the new boats yet, but I hear the wake is great, very clean and closer to the X-Star wake (going to be much better than my 03). Price is not too different between the two boats, my wife does not like the pickle fork, and I don't like not having a swivel seat, so we ordered the X-30.

I was under the impression that there was a significant price difference between the two boats, with the x45 about 15 to 20K more than the X30. I'm more conservative so like the style of the x30 vs the x45, but both are really nice boats.
What color is the new boat?

The price difference is larger when you compare the 05 X-30 to the 05 X-45, but the 06 which is the new style had a significant price increase on it (found this out the hard way). Don't know what you are paying for them out in Cali, but it was not all that bad of a difference here ($1500). The way I look at it though is that you MUST get the LQ9 or the Crusader engine on the X-45 which will set you back a bit more.
The X-30 is fine with the MCX.

Great colors! I agree with you about the motors. I think to get comparable performance to my existing boat (330 hp & approx 10 lbs/hp) you would have to go with the big block motor. Heavier boat, bigger motor, larger tow vehicle...where does it stop?

With any luck I should take delivery of my X-45 this week. It has been at the canvas shop having the factory cover modified, tower cover built and carpet installed on the walk through area of the sunpad. The weather here has not cooperated so I have not had it in the water yet.
When looking at motors for the boat we quickly narrowed it down to the LQ9 and the L-18 due to the size of the boat and the altitude where we boat. For the money I felt the L-18 was a better buy plus you are able to get a hot water shower with it. Since the LQ9 has a closed cooling system a shower was not available.
I sent you a PM answering your other questions.

Rick,
Check with me in 6 weeks, I should have my X 45 by then and would be happy to share my thoughts. I moved up from an 03 x-star and opted for the L18 figuring the boat would need that power. Although I drove a X45 in January in TN with the MCX and it performed well, I felt the bigger engine would be worth the money.

Hi Jimmy,
Thanks for the post, and I agree with your L18 choice. What color boat did you order?

I rode in a X45 with a LQ9 and it was really slow. Good move WakePowell getting the bigger engine. I think you will like the power.

I pick my boat up tomorrow finally. The dealer is done “prepping” it and the canvas shop did a great job on the covers and carpet. One other thing that I had changed was the bow “roller” on the trailer. Mastercraft uses a large “roller” that does not even come close to fitting the boat. It hits on the sides of the bow and leaves marks. I had it swapped out for the Boat Buddy system used on the X-Star, which fits great.
The weather looks like it might improve next week so hopefully I will get it wet.

You had me worried since I got an LQ9 with my 190. Still at the dealers till ice goes out and boat lift gets back in water. Really glad to hear it's performing well for you, glad you hung in there I know you were pretty upset in the beginning.

how big of a gas tank do they give you with the L18?
WakePowell

The X-45 has a 90 gallon tank regardless of the engine size.

Holy crap that's big.

This was another reason for me going with another X30. The weight of that boat full of gas behind my truck was more than I wanted to haul around with a gas truck.

djhuff,
Tell me about your 03 X-30. Price, engine, options, color, pics?
Is it in the marketplace here?
I'll be looking for one as soon as my old boat sells.
Thanks.
