View Full Version : Gas Theft

Had 60+ gallons of hi-test ($200) pumped out of the boat sometime in the last week while it was parked at the local boat club:mad: . Should have figured with the price of gas and the size of these tanks it would happen sooner than later. Am looking to put a locking gas cap on my '99 Maristar 230 but having no luck locally or on the net. Anybody solve this dilema? Thanks for any help.

Have not seen specifically a locking mastercraft gas cap.

Atleast they didn't steal the factory cap.

I would be campin that boat club with a shotty, because its not a 1 time thing.

I've also heard about some people drilling holes into the bottom of vehicle fuel tanks to steal it. (Don't laugh, they are plastic tanks now, it wouldn't take much) If they want it, they will get it.

Perko makes a lock that goes inside the cap and blocks the fill tube. You should be able to get them from your dealer or local marine shop.

Holy $#%$! First I've heard of this - stealing gas out of the boat. Yikes, what is this world coming to? I guess I shouldn't be surprised with the value of the gas at today's prices.
Sigh. :(
