View Full Version : To much play in tilt steering assy

The ball and socket joint that allows the steering wheel to tilt up and down is very loose on my '98 Prostar 190. All the nuts and bolts are tight but the ball has MUCH more free play inside the socket than when new. In any locked tilt position I can flop the wheel up and down a good inch or more.

What is the best way to remedy this? Am I looking at a new assembly, or can parts be changed out. Has something been worn out of it completely - a plastic bushing maybe? Who manufactures this assembly for MasterCraft?
