I had heard about the crushing of the GM EV cars before and believed it then and still do. I makes perfect sense for the oil companies to buy the car companies out. The BIG GUNS will be dead and it will be their kids problem when we run out of oil, so for now they are raking it in for their kids to live off of in the future and for them to live off of now and they are living good, I might add. I just hope hell won't run out of oil before they burn there!:twocents:

reminds me of the Kennedy's

let's look at it like this
You make a product that is dependent on a proprietary battery or important part.
your competition covertly buys the company that builds that proprietary battery, they squeeze you out of business, then sell off the battery company in 5 years...... after patent license expires perhaps:confused:

Has anyone here seen the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car"? If not, I suggest watching it. It is a real eye-opener. It would appear that the oil companies probably had the most to do with killing the EV. You don't have infrastructure like public recharging stations built when something is being tested.

At a base of $98K, $400 per month is not going to come close (unless you put about $78K down).

they have a link to it in that first link I posted.
and the youtube videos are clips from "who killed the electric car?"
complete with Mel Gibson/Saddam Hussein impersonation
that's the reason I brought the subject up... a buddy mentioned it and that was some research I found.

We have a new electric car dealer in town. The charges don't last very long (40 miles  ), but they are making big promises in a couple years (hundreds of miles):

Thats 2 round trips (2 days) for my wife to drive to work and it only takes 4 to 6 hours to recharge and now her Ford Exploder sits in the garage for 13 hours a day anyway, it's a no brainer, but.................................... Yes, it's illogical, impractical and immature thinking!

FWIW- I applied for being a test pilot for that program, unfortunetly for me, they don't have a "fueling" station within range:mad: . I'll keep trying.

Same old BS song and dance about building a electric car, so the Big Oil will pony up some more money to get GM in the black again and pad the big wigs pockets!
