# of cup holders, curious

I noticed 3 cup holders in the motor cover on my new 2005PS 190 with LQ9 engine. All of the boats shown in the 2005 catalogue have 4 cup holders. I was just glancing at the 2004 catalogue and noticed there that all the engine covers had 3 cup holders. I am curious if anyone with a 2005 with an engine cover has 4 or 3 cup holders especially if you have the LQ 9 engine.
MYMC maybe you can help. Does the LQ9 come with the standard size engine cover or a larger cover?

Standard MCX/TBI/Predator and now RTP motor boxes come standard
with 4 cupholders and a MOLDED/bilited piece on top. LQ-9 boxes come with three. I know your next question will be why?...I do not know only the Mastercraft GODS on top of Mouint Vonore can answer that one

Take out the CUP HOLDERS to get more AIR to your motor I do no that that does make a very slight difference in performance

Thanks Jim. I don't question why, was just curious that there was a difference, as if for some reason they might have given me last years engine cover. You clarified it for me... Should I expect performance probs with my LQ9?

I call those on the motor box the drink warmers......the design flaw was to locate them right over them muffler.

I keep thinking this thread is leading into a Chrysler minivan commercial, who has the most # of drink holders.

Seems like it would be good to put some vent holes in the cover if it is having that hard of time breathing.

MC constantly monitors this site and has decided you only need three drink holders! That must explain why I have no drink holders! Other people like Leroy have twenty drink holders (I think it's for the kids, not the adult beverages). :uglyhamme

A few years ago I was helping Patty look at some new/used cars.. We found a real nice little lumina car ( I do not believe any woman needs a $40,000 plus vehicle to shuttle her skinny rear end to work and back) that she just didn't like. Unbelievably it was due to NO cupholders..

I used to laugh at those commercials on TV, now I just shake my head and remember the words, JUST DONT MARRY EM.......
