Should I send my prop back to OJ or just take it to my local guy? We have a guy that has been rebuilding our props since before I was born, but since the prop is CNCed, I was thinking perhaps it should be sent back to OJ??? My local guys does great work and has all the computers, etc. Can he do it?

I just took my XMP to a local shop. OJ was going to be about the same price but they currently have a 2 week turn around plus shipping time and the cost of that shipping.

Thanks for the input. I will drop it off sometime this week. If Eric @ OJ has any super revealing information, I am all ears, if not I will just drop it off.

It cost me $145 including tax to have the XMP reworked locally. OJ charges $90-$120 depending on what needs to be done plus the shipping both ways.

Most of the repairs we do run from $70.00 to $90.00. Those over $100.00 are rare. Typical turn around is just a few days this time of year. Return shipping for a single propeller is around $12.00 for 3 day service.

I recommend OJ. They will make it like new. They usually have a quick turnaround time.

Eric,

I spoke with someone in your office last Wednesday and was told what I stated above which is why I went local.

I just had my stainless prop done at OJ. My mechanic sent it in - it took a week or two and cost $120 which included shipping and I'm sure a small profit for the mechanic. Looks nice but I haven't tried it yet. I'm leaving the new XMP (also from OJ) on for now.

Stainless props will generally cost a bit more to repair. Much tougher to work on than Ni-Bral.
