I am in the same boat as you. I am currently selling my 06 X-1 to set upto an 08 X-2

Options to consider

MCX
Mooring/Trailer cover (Best in the industry)
Bimini Top (escape the sun)
Ipod Interface (who doens't need this)
Bottom Hull Colour (white is too plain)

Took delivery of our 08 X-2 last month. Agree with Fdubber and add the tower mount mirror (don't think it's standard). Our Hull is one color (red). We have the RTP-1 - coming from a 220 hp carbed I/O the RTP feels stout. Have not experienced the MCX.

Very pleased with our X-2!

I have an 07 X2.
We love the bimini. I have the table and it is nice if you have young kids, if not then skip it. The depth finder is a must. Mooring cover should be included as well as Ipod interface are standard. I am thinking of adding the heater and some tower lights and speakers. If you plan on doing a lot of road travel then get the dual wheel trailer.

if you trailer go with the Dual axle

Perfect pass, heater, Tower lights & speakers, tower braces. If you want to save some money, you should look into buying Skeelers boat. Thats one of the sweetest X-2's on the planet!

Agree with all previous posts, but would add the Attitude Adjustment Plate if you plan to do any real slalom skiiing. It also helps trim the boat out at slower (less than 20 mph) cruising speeds.

What's the weather where you are? My wife loves the heater and the hot water shower is amazing when it gets cooler.

Well, here is my two cents....:D Also, for resale.

MCX
Tower Speakers
Perfect Pass
Bimini Top
Tower Mirror
Ipod Inter.
Snap Cover

All the others can be added later, I am sure I have missed a few. As far as the snap cover goes (I always hear mixed reviews), but for me every boat I order will have a snap cover, and here is why.
1) I have witnessed it first hand. Friend of mine has a dark colored X-2, trailered a couple of times, and the cover was tight, scratched it to hell.
2) Snap Cover doesn't pool water on top at all.
3) For me, hell of a lot easier to take on and off. Especially, when the boat is on the lift.
4)You can do 90mph down the interstate and that cover ain't moving or rubbing.
Again, just my two cents.

Bump!

I love Skeelers old X-2, if I could buy any boat right now, minus the X-35, it would be Skeelers X-2!!

A steal at the price to!!

Thanks guys, it has been a great boat for us. Still in love with it. :D Having said that, already working on the upgrade plans for the new X-Star. List so far; 40 sets of leds, 7 pairs of component speakers, three amps, and a couple subs. :D Boat should be in about a month of so. Hopefully, I should have it done by the first boat show at the end of January.

Thanks,
I,m planning on the switch( from the bottom black, white, black, white).
LY6 is available this year. 4 Tower speakers, lights off the back and the new underwater lights. Attitude plate we may do some skiing. The heater I'm not sure about, from what I've read it dose not work that well w/ LY6. I planned on fiberglass plaform, ipod, transom remote, tower mirror, cover, I'm not a big fan of snaps and it will sit in the garage. Dual batteries, bimini, Tandem trailer w/ spare.
Bow filler?
heated seats?
Hydraulic steering?
walk thru jump seat?
Thanks

I wish! -I need to get 4 more pairs for my X-star. I do think they are worth it though they are real neat, especially if you back light them with LEDS.

I have had the '06 X-2 with power steering and now have the '08 with out power steering - boat is MUCH better without power steering! Turning radius is far less and steering effort is far less withOUT power steering - much more fun to drive.

Heated seats are a MUST, walk through seat is not very practical but the bow filler cushion is very useful.

WIth the new VDIG gauge in the 08's it has depth, air/water temp, P Pass, minutes left on your tank of fuel, low water alarm, Rider presets, customizable menu's, digital ballast read out, reprogrammable ballast for extra 15 mins.

All this in one guage.. local dealer show'd me features on saturday.. was totally impressed.

Also my dealer orders all boats with the tower mirror and the windshield mount is so "Malibu" lol

Also tower braces come standard with the boat when you get one set of tower speakers, otherwise you have to ask for them.
