View Full Version : Improved 3 inch Vent Hose?

I am preparing to repair some vent hose and install a heater into my boat. I am curious if anybody has found a more durable replacement to the 3” drier vent style hose? I guess I am looking for an affordable source of three inch solid rubber hose.

VTJC, I don't have an answer, but if you have a camera, and wouldn't mind recording the heater install, I, for one, would like to see how to do it. Which heater are you using? Where did you buy it? Thanks!

I am installing a http://www.heatercraft.com 3 output heater and shower. I purchased it from http://www.skidim.com. I will try and do a little write up with photo's.

ZJ is the 93-98 Grand Cherokee.

Cool, can't wait to see it. I thought that was the XJ. I'm out of the jeep loop.

Do you need a heater in your part of the country? I think a heater in my boat would get a work out. It looks like the temp for my early “ski time” Saturday may start out at 48. Brrrrrr. That is unseasonably < (is that a word) cold but if I can do it in Oct/Nov, I guess can do it in Aug

I certainly do it was in the low 50’s when we skied at 7am today. Fortunately water is in the low/mid seventies. Jamie

Whether I need a heater or not is questionable. I'm still in shorts in October. Wetsuit in November. My wife is a good sport, and will bundle up to drive the boat (she does not like the cold). Just thought it'd be a good way to keep her happy when she drives in March/November.

Being in Southern Ohio, we get a lot of use out of our heater too - especially during our annual New Year's Day run on the Ohio River. But as much as a appreciate the heat, I get more use out of the fan just blowing cooler air on me when it's 90 and 90% humidity. I just turn the valve off on the engine, and it really makes it nice.
