what is the correct distribuator and electronic ignition box for a ford 351 windsor/1988 m/c? and where could i purchase one that would be cheaper then a m/c dealership?

Do you want a whole new distributor or just change over to electronic ignition? As 70 stated if you just want to change over to electronic, here is the link for the parts, http://www.skidim.com/products.asp?dept=1113, part #13212 is all it takes, no ignition box is required.

You've lost me there! The box and distributor should have a manufacturers name and data on it, I would think.

I installed a Pertronix ignition kit in the existing distributor for my '88 p/s back in 2001. It has worked flawlessly since.

You might consider that option, it was easy, not too expensive, and has totally eliminated any hesitation when I slam the throttle.
