the pic is probably real but not behind a boat. The guy is wearing a leash for his surf board and it is an actual surf board not a wakesurfer. I would say he is surfing a natural wave not a boat wave.

North Shore Hawaii....Pipeline or maybe Waimea Bay? Just a wild guess...

looks really photoshopped, and if it's real I agree with Roonies, it's real surf. Show me a pic with the boat in the shot and I'll maybe believe you!

He is wearing a life jacket though. I've never seen a real surfer wearing a lifejacket.

I dunno, the lighting just looks weird on the board and his calves. I've been surfing for a long time, and you see a life jacket from time to time! I'd really like to see a pic with the boat in it!!

Id agree with you...unless your a professional camera guy or u just dropped the camera in the lake and hit the button on the way down...why would you take a picture from that low? I mean yeah it has the illusion to make objects bigger when shooting up to them but I agree deffenitley looks fake.

That wave is too clean to come from a boat.

What does that matter? We used regular boards before wakesurfing was even thought up. We called it "freeboarding" back in the day.

It only matters because the size of that wake in question. Unless I see a pic with the boat in it I have to say it is ocean waves not boat wake.

It is way easy to tell there is prop wash and is a boat wake

Looks like ocean still water waving up to me and not the rear end of a boat.

And hard do believe I'm feeding a troll but..
clearly photoshopped. Look at the top of the wave line in front of his body and behind his body. They're not even close to lining up.

I'm gonna contact Gene and see if it's real, and if it is, the surfer will disappear when Gene puts the bragging speech on him!
