Only 51 hours. Reserve is met at $17k could possibly be a good deal for someone.

Looks like a divorce sale?????
All three items this person has for sale are "toys"
plus that's a steal for a 2000 190,
I'd like to get the pontoon boat.....

I don't understand someone that would spend that much money on a boat and only use it 51 hours in 4 years

Another interesting thing is the 98 Prostar windshield (do a search for "master craft"). Also, you don't see many of these.

I noticed that the '98-'00 PS 190's weren't selling too well last year when I was looking for my 205/209. Many were in the high teens then. 205's for that vintage (like I was looking for) OTOH were more. That 190 hull is the one they put the hydro rails on before the re-design in 2001. I think that steers some people away from it, thus the lower prices.

The deck and motorbox style were abandoned quickly as well.

I don't understand it either, but I like those people. I bought my '96 PS190 1.5 years ago with 90 hours on it. I nearly put more hours on it in the 1.5 years I have owned it than the previous owner did in the 7 or so years he had it.

The unusual (and I mean UNUSUAL) motorbox and interior were only common to the '99 (at least for the 205) The '98 was like the '97 and the '00 205 interior was virtually the same (styling-wise) as the new boats.
'99 was a one-off year for interior styling.

i put about 110 a year . i think thats why i had a hard time selling my 2000 mb with 495 hours. i had it exactly 4 years 2000-2004. most people think its to much but the engine has plenty of life left.

As long as you keep up with maintenance, they seem to go for a pretty long time.

I have heard that 2000 hours is about the limit to these motors. Don't know if there is any truth to that, just what I have heard.

The number I hear is that they're rated for 2,000 hours. Some go more. Some go less.

Me either. I bought my 96 PS 190 last spring w/ 180hrs on it. The previous owners had it for 3 yrs and they bought it w/ about 120 hrs. I've put over 100 hrs on it in one season, although I don't expect as many hrs the next few years due to the lack of water close to my new home (Albq).

Strange, but not unusual. I bought my '94 in 2001 with 59 hours on it. It had spent most of it's life sitting in a barn. The only problems I've had are with threads dry rotting out of the covers, rotten belts & hoses. Replaced them & the boat is pushing 600 hours now & no major repairs.
sold one of that vintage about 6months ago and they are hard to sell. Most say it's the closed bow that kills the value, but there were many rumors of the winglets and such that may have played into it's value.
I probably put about a hundred hours a year like most of you.

I agree…but great deals. I bought a ’94 190 in 1998 with only 17 hrs. Similar to the discussion on another thread (motionless time on the water?) since they used it to sit in and drink. After I finally cleaned all the beer & coffee stains out of the carpet, it was one GREAT ‘like new’ boat!

Hehe, theres a guy like that on our lake. He has a 2000 Nautique & will only ski on the most perfect of perfect days, even though he's out there all the time. We kid around about him being on the original tank of gas...... :steering:

We bought our 2001 Prostar on July 2, 2004 with 37 hours on it; still had the warning tags on the spare tire and tags on the engine. Put 40 more hours on it from July to September.
It's now at $19,300 with an hour left

Somebody should email the winner and invite them to the discussion.
GOOD idea and a fine way to find out if the transaction actually takes place!
