Anybody tried HO's Approach binding. They say they have a more forward lean and I wondered how they feel. Thanks in advance.

They feel great, unless you have a normal size or wide foot, then they feel like wearing a bench vise. Oh, and if you wear them tight enough to keep them on your foot, they will NOT release in a fall.

I am a big fan of the Approach bindings myself, and have skied them since they came out. A touch stiffer than the Animals, and yes, they do have quite a bit more forward lean. It is only recommended to ski the boots in a pair, vs a front Approach with an open toe plate. If you are in the market it may be worth your while to wait a few months, as Radar is on schedule to have their boots shipping by January / February... And I can personally say they will be worth the wait! Something to consider at least!
Hope this helps!

I would agree. I had to trade mine down for a set of new Animals. The Approach never once released. It was an unsettling feeling for me when wiping out to not have the ski come off. Some people do, however, like the idea of the ski staying on. (i guess, anyway:confused: ) I have been told my feet are wide, so it is nice to hear that I am not the only one who felt like my foot was in a vise. I gave them a fair chance, but I was too used to the comfort feeling the Animals have provided me over the years:D

Oh, in all fairness. My backup bindings are approaches. If I have a problem with my Fogman's, I bolt on the approaches. Luckily I've only had to do that once.

Yes, the approaches are great. They do NOT release, and yes my feet sometimes lose feeling due to being clamped in a vice.:)
I use aproach in front foot and animal in the back foot, great combination because it gives me a little bit of movement on my back feet. great results!!!!

I was all set on the System 8 with the animals untill I called The Warming Hut in Dallas and the only had the Approaches in stock. They quoted me a 2007 System 8 with the Approaches for $600. My feet are pretty flat so maybee I better look for the Animals even thought I really like a tight fit although I think thats a good deal on that package.
