How much do you tip for boat detailing? I have to pick up my boat from the car wash this evening...is $20 enough?

I had mine done by a local fiberglass shop. They were expensive enough and I didn't feel compelled to tip.

Thanks...wasn't sure what was the appropriate thing to do...I only use the touchless automatic car washes, so wasn't sure if I was going to have to tip or not.

Absofrigginlutely Right!

Do something above and beyond, and you get a tip.

dpolen---LOL--for a second, when I read your second post, I thought you said you were running your boat through a touchless car wash. Whew.

My MasterCraft dealer wanted $15 per nominal foot to detail after winterizing. The detailing place down the block from them wants $13foot...so I had him go pick up my boat from the dealer when it was winterized. They did a nice job - upholstery is sparkling, RejeX on the hull. All of which I expected for $299, so...no tip, just a nice firm handshake and my sincere gratitude.
