No boats in the water but the planes were in the air...everyone that wanted to fly got the chance, we had demo pilots on hand as well as the head CFI at the school so if you wanted the left seat and had never flown before you had your chance.

Even had the MC rep flying including taking off...everything but landing, never saw a smile that big on his face before.:D

What's the cruise speed on that Cirrus?

Did I tell you about my buddy's Mooney and his belly landing?

Thanks guys...it was fun, and since we are in the middle of a major drought here it was a good way to get people in and around the boats.

The SR20 is good for 155knts at 75% power (N167SR in pics)
The SR20 is good for 185knts (not pictured)
The SR22 Turbo about 219knts (N538SR in pics)

I still remember that feeling. I was fourteen years old. Nothing like it in the world. You're doing 75 kts, you're steering with your feet, the centerline is somewhere off to your right, and all of a sudden, everything gets really quiet as you slip into the air. I tell you, there's just nothing like that first take off.

First landing isn't nearly that sexy. I was just glad to be alive afterwards.

Flight instructors are the bravest people in the world. 99.9% of the time, they just sit there with their arms crossed.

If you dont count the other Cirrus turbo we had there (not in picture) I would guess around $1.7 million if you add it around $2.3.

$600K for a little ol' 4 seat airplane. I just don't get it.

That would be for a GTS bird with all the toys including:
EMAX engine monitor
Weather Link (XM)
TAWS-B
Dual 430's
CMax
StormScope
Built in O2
Electronic approach plates
Skywatch with VIP
Turbo normalized 310hp
Leather interior

It all adds up...

Flew one of those last night on Flight Simulator X. I like the way it handled. In a pinch, you can land them on the Interstate, too. :)

There is no doubt Cirrus has it figured out by how many of them they sell. For me, if I had $600k to drop on an airplane it would be WAY down on the list. If it's good for GA though I am all for it. I am thinking if I had that kind of money I would be looking more along the lines of a Piper Cheyenne or a "cheaper" King Air C90. :) Perhaps more realistically a 10 year old Bonanza or Baron and enough money left over to pay for gas/insurance/etc for a LONG time. :)
