hi all,

started this summer only. Sometimes does not work at all and then starts to works again.

Can anyone point to me, maybe with a picture, the tach connector on the distributor, or is it on the ECM ?? I will check for a loose or improper connection.

Could it also be a loose ground on the instrument panel ?

thank you

I had the same problem with my tach (98 PS190 LT1). I discovered the reason for it was because of the way power was routed to my perfect pass system.

I originally just wanted to correct an irratating loss of power to PP when I had a lot of accessories turned on. Turns out that moving the power supply from the back of the tachometer to the ignition switch solved two problems! My tach is working correctly again.

If you don't have PP on your boat you could at least check the electrical connection on the back of the tach. It is not to hard to reach from under the dash. Just remove the driver seat and dive under with a light. There is a small access hole you can get one hand through...
