View Full Version : Heater on 94 225vrs

Last week I was out and the heater was blowing cool air. The last time I used it was last fall and it was fine. I have looked and all of the hoses appear to be hooked up. It has the LT1 and a heat exchanger. The engine temp while running is around 160. While I am not totally mechanical if I had a general idea of where to begin that would be a huge help. I am just trying to avoid the stealership for what could be a simple fix.

Thanks in Advance

All valves in heater loop open?
most do not produce good heat at idle unless you install Y pipe
floor under heating unit wet? prob bad heater core.

I will check and see if the loops are open, where are they located? I was running about 3000 rpm's for 5 -10 min and the engine had been warmed up. I had read about the idle problem. No water on the floor.

Are there other factors besides the water on the floor that could diagnos the problem as the core?

Is there hot water flowing through both ends of the heater hose? I would try to blow out the heater lines w/ air to ensure that there is no blockage.

Thanks I will give that a shot over the weekend. I don't think this whole thing is overly complicated that is why I would like to try and tackle it. Thanks for the advice
