We've got a '93 Maristar 225 that we got for a steal and are looking to upgrade in numerous ways. I was wondering if y'all had and suggestions on any of the following...

Upholstery- We have some ideas, the colors now are black, grey, and turquoise, we're thinking about getting rid of the retro turquoise in exchange for a nice candy red, but that would require repainting the boat as well. not only colorwise, but upholstery wise, were is there to go other than the local upholstery shop? Anywhere within a days drive of Texas that does a really good job and specializes in Mastercrafts? We're looking at ditching the observer seat in exchange for a bench seat like on the newer models for more space.

Ballasts- any ideas or suggestions on decent quality ballasts for wakeboarding, surfing, or kneeboarding? dad wasn't to hot on the idea of saccing it out to start with, but I think he'll let me do it as long as I pay for it. I'm thinking about putting Sacs under the back seat, and in the ski locker. Any other ways to throw some wake? I've heard about a wakeplate, but I haven't heard how well they look.

Towers- We wanted to get the zero flex tower, but it's a little out of the price range with all the other add-ons. any ideas on something that looks similar, but still looks classy on the boat? I'm not a huge fan of the straight up and down tower look, I like the tower that looks like it angles back a bit.

that's all I've got for now, but any other suggestions are welcomed!!

I'll post some pics of this past weekend later on, Somerville was beautiful this weekend, and we got some great runs in!

Re: "repainting"...be aware that it's not painted now, the color that it is is the color of the polyester gel coat - first layer in the mold that the hull was formed in. Your boat's colors were sprayed in the mold and the fiberglass of the hull laid over that layer. So, you'd be painting over that gelcoat layer. Not that it can't be a nice job, but it requires special techniques and material, and it's $pendy. It's kind of tricky business.....not something you can just run down to Earl Scheib.

good to know! We might just nurture the retro feel of the turquoise!! We thought about just leaving the turquoise on the gelcoat and changing the color of the upholstery to just black and grey. other than the upholstery and the carpet the boat is in great condition so I can't wait to get these few things done!!

wrap it

it's only $3800 to wrap a F-150 SuperCrew I don't imagine a boat would be much more

defiantly will do, I'm at school now, but I'll try and get a picture on my computer when I go back to the apartment! Can't wait to see what they can work up, I'm eager to get rid of this early 90's retro scheme haha!

here is the newest addition to the maristar. Yeah, I know, it's a Moomba tower, oh well. It looks like it should fit like the zero flex, in running even with the windshield and all, and was about half the price. Dad picked it out, not me, so I'm pleased!

any thoughts on the Moomba tower?

Dude,

I've got some used ones I was thinking of selling. A pair of 450's I think....

What condition are they in, and how do they fit in your Maristar? We've got the old direct drive, and I want something that'll fit behind the passenger seat, and maybe under the rear seat or on top of it.

They have been used twice. I have a bunch of them but don't use these anymore. They have been in my basement all summer and I bought them last fall. They were $199.

Ted, know it's late but after a bunch of searching I finally found the side shot picture of the boat, that we took a couple months ago! It was lost in the depths of Hard drives and cyber space, and showed up eventually!! Can't wait to see what y'all work up for a wrap! I'm really partial to the black, grey, and red scheme, but I'm sure whatever y'all throw on there will be awesome!! thanks again!!

and update on the tower: It came in yesterday, and I'm heading home from college station this afternoon to give it a good inspection, and make sure the fit is right!! can't wait!! :)
