View Full Version : 93 Prostar 205 What Tower to Buy?

I have a 93 prostar 205 that needs a tower. I'm looking at Monster, New dimension and a Wakestar Power Tower sold at costco online.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm a skier pulling wakeboarder kids and friends. We're not pros, but I want a tower that will be sturdy, minimal flex and wont rattle.

I would go with the new dimensions. They look the best, and are very durable, and functionable.
If funds are a problem then the Monster tower cant be beat for the buck.

My vote is for Monster...save yourself a few bucks. I'm very happy with mine...the ski rack is a must have accessory.

I like the New Dimension. For $2300 you get an OEM looking tower (it is OEM for '01-'04).
Last winter they had a 15% off sale if you ordered before Feb 31st. I got the tower, 2 racks, and tower light shipped to RI for ~$2300. :)

I got the Fly High from Barefoot International and racks and the mirror mount from Hydrocide for my 93. The tower is stiff. The nice thing is you can put the surf board on top since the rack is just for boards. Space is at a premium on that boat so every little bit helps.

With towers, you get what you pay for. Go with the New Dimension Tower. You may call them and ask them if they have any factory blem towers that might fit your boat. IIRC, when I bought mine, they had another factory blem that would fit a 92-94PS....don't know if they sold that tower or not, i would assume they did, but askin' is still for free I think

Its a 95, so its the same as yours hull wise. I got a deal on mine, call rich and see if they have any in stock that they are looking to get rid of.
No tower on a beautiful boat like that:( . Ski that machine, ski it ski it ski it.
If needed put a skylon on :D
Not that my vote counts for anything

My vote goes for the ND as well. I bought one this summer and it is solid. Plus it is built for your boat - no "maybe it will fit" here. It fits like it came from the factory with it.

I just spent a week on Lake Roosevelt with a guy who owned a 95 Prostar (same hull) with the Monster tower. He was really unhappy with it, which surprised me after reading so many good things about it. I rode in the boat & the tower was bouncy as he11 in choppy conditions, so bad that he would not put any boards or SkySkis on the tower at all. He said he tightened things up regularly but always had to do it again & again.
I had an Ichor tower (out of Vancouver BC) on my 94. You can see a pic of it in my photos & all over this forum. I installed big backing plates & it was almost as sturdy as a Titan, which is the best in my opinion. I never ran any racks on the Ichor at all. After about 4 years, one of the rear feet cracked the hull a bit. 3 yrs after that & the crack hasn't moved & the tower is still rock solid.

After talking to a few people I went with the Monster. Mostly because I have a really low garage and it folds up to nothing. After talking to a few people I'd heard nothing but excellent things about it, and you can't beat the price.
