Well, I finally made it out for the first time this year with two friends of mine, both around at 28 & 32 off, 34 mph. One brought along a family friend, a super nice kid, who was working on 35 off at 36 mph. Holy S***, was that ever cool! I was glad I did not have to drive, so I could watch & learn. He would rip off a 32 pass like it was nothing. Got to 3 or 4 at 35. Wish I'd have brought my video camera!
Sadly I was the loser still struggling at 15 off. Got to 4 ball at 34 mph, my new personal best, thanks to some tips from them.
Awesome night, warm (until the sun went down), no wind, private lake, good laughs & great skiing. That's what it's all about!! That will hold me over nicely until next spring.

I drove for a buddy yesterday who skis into 38 off. He has a mid 90's 190 that has some play in the steering and not PP. Boy did I stink up his passes. I was all over the place. I owe him at least 3 beers a pass!

Wow, no PP? That'd be tough, with sloppy steering to boot. We were all going to ski behind my '89, but then another member showed up with a '06 bu. That held the 4 of us a bit better. That thing is huge! I did miss my wake :D Kinda wanted to drive it to see what it was like, but did not want the pressure of pulling really good skiiers.
The one time I drove for the guy who runs 28-32 off, he didn't pull me around too bad. I drive a cousin at 15 off who really throws the boat around. Fortunately it's never in a course, so we can't really tell!

The neat thing about no PP is you have to use your ears to hear the skier, eyes on the speedos and the tach, brain and 1 hand on the throttle, the other on the steering wheel. I pulled Chuck Forrest in the early '90's at 35 and 38 off in paractice, what a rush.

I guess that was confusing. I meant to say first time out with my good skiing friend. Usually I'm just lucky to get a pull in the course but never get feedback.
I really need to get out more than once every week or 2 in order to get better. It's all I can to to keep from re-gressing! I hope to next year, the kids will be older & easier. I've started to get my 6 year old wanting to ski more and more!
