What prop is being used on the 07 197 LY6 TT ? I know it is a OJ but not sure if it is a 3 or 4 blade and size.

Don't know the displacement of the LY6, but here's the list from the owner's manual for the 197. Definitely a four blade. I suspect just by POE that it's the 13.7"x19.5" OJ XMP Four Blade.

The owners manual does not give all the details as my LY6 is running a OJ 13X12.

The OJ that came with my 07 and 08 197 with the LY6 was the 13x12 3 blade cnc prop with .65 cup.

On both boats I switched to the ACME 1281 which is a 13.25 X 15 3 blade cnc prop. I felt the performance with the ACME was better than the OJ. My top end went from 45 on both boats with the OJ to 47-48 with the ACME. Both props were turning about the same 5500 rpms.

They're running a 13x12 on a gear reduction transmission?

The tranny is a 1.22:1 so it will not be able to turn the props that you are used to with a 1.5:1.

Does anyone know what the prop is that comes on an MCX with a gear reduction tranny?

Not that it matters, but I think it's 1.26:1, isn't it?

Here's what I found on www.mymastercraft.com's parts page. Looks as if it changed in 07, but I couldnt' find any reference to a replacement.

PROP-13.7 X 15 LH 4 BLADE SPLINE CNC MCX/RTP-1 1.26:1 '05-06

Yes, it is a 1.26:1. OJ claims they are running a 13.7x 15 4 blade on all LY6 TT boats.

It would be nice if Mastercraft would update there owners manuals with the correct information. The 2007 and 2008 owners manuals have the wrong info. The tranny in my 197 is 1.22:1. To confirm I went out and looked at the label and it is a ZF 63A with 1.22 in forward and 1.22 in reverse.

From my understanding the OJ 13X12 was picked based on the use by Freddy Krueger for jumping.

I was wrong, I also checked and it shows 1.22:1. I run 3490 RPM's at 30 MPH with the 13X12 OJ.

At 34 mph my perfect pass is set at 3510 rpms. I just set that last night with my new prop. At 30 mph it is 3250, but that was with a damaged prop so the new prop will be different. Have you seen what the top end speed is via GPS on your setup yet? Below is what I found with my different props for each boat. Max rpm was the same for each prop at about 5500 rpms.

Year Prop Top Speed
2007 OJ 13X12 45.5 mph
2007 ACME 13.25X15 48.1 mph
2008 OJ 13X12 45 mph
2008 ACME 13.25X15 47.1

I just ran it tonight before I put the OJ 4 blade on:
