Anyone in the area should come out, we are doing some footing all afternoon this Sunday on Lake Elizabeth. Hoping for good conditions, but we go regardless. Trying to get ERK out there too, hopefully this post will get him and some of you guys committed. You don't need to bring a boat, there will be a few but the more the better as always.

I could use some more detailed directions too......Is it near the WI/IL state line? That's what I'm getting on your mapquest.

Yes, it is nearly on the state line.......Hollywood, where is everyone meeting?

I'll post some better directions later in the week. The ramp is in WI, near the intersections of Rt 12 and Rt 173 (which is in IL). We are going to meet for a nice big breakfast beforehand at Manny's Snack Shack which is in Twin Lakes at the North tip of Lake Mary.

I might be up for it. I was planning on heading up to my cabin, but that is dependant on if I can get my friends to pull themselves away from Camp Randall and the Badger game on Saturday night. I will let you know later in the week.

I could even bring the new '08 197 with the LY6 now that I have a whopping 9 hrs on it.

Suggestion for Hollywd, if you want to make it a HUGE BAREFOOT party, send out annoucement eariler and put it right after FOOTSTOCK held in Crandon, WI or Barefoot Nationals held in (The Blue Moo) a private man made site located in a corn field Alma City, WI. ... hope this helps you guy's find it easier.

Here's what they did for FOOTSTOCK directions ..

WHERE IS CRANDON, WISCONSIN?
Crandon is located about 200 miles north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

About two hours north of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

30 miles east of Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

It is in the Northeast part of the state just south of the Upper Peninsula of
Michigan.

Rhinelander is the closest “big” city. Pop: 10,000.
Rhinelander, Green Bay and Milwaukee (even Minneapolis) are typically the airports people fly into. Rhinelander is the closest.

Minneapolis is about 4 hours west.
Highway’s 8 and 32 and 55 all feed into Crandon.

Crandon is essentially one big long main street (Lake Street). There are signs directing people to the site (Peshtigo Lake) which is just a half mile north of town.

This is why Erk said it was close to the border. The souther tip of Lake Elizabeth is actually in IL, although it's all swamp.

The ramp is off of Rt. 173 (in IL).

We did something like this last year, Erk came out to Deep Lake in IL and did many 3-4-5 man lines, there were pictures posted somewhere on here.

We should probably keep the get together small as to keep out the Riff-Raff. 8p Not making this a huge event would also provide better water for those that show up.

HW, people in Wi and IL don't need directions...just give them a general idear where the place is and they'll show up. ;)

Just checked the weather and it looks great for Sunday. An early post mentioned meeting for breakfast, another one said skiing in the afternoon....any time schedules/meeting places been selected yet?

Hollywood

There are 2 meeting places, Manny's snack shack or the boat ramp. We will probably be at breakfast at 9am, and putting in around 10. With over a dozen people so far, it's hard to say who will be there when, not to mention any "walk ins".

The lake can get ugly with strong winds out of the south or north.

If you aren't bringing a boat and can't find anyone that looks like they plan on barefooting, give me a call. 847-436-0955

There were pics and vids taken, not by me so I doubt I'll see them anytime soon.

LLS and ERK came out, water was garbage but we did do some footing.

Then end of the day turned out pretty well I thought.....it was just the 5 hours that we sat around watching 2 foot rollers that sucked!

Some smooth water would have been nice but getting some skiing in on a great day is always good. Thanks to Hollywood for putting the invite out and Erk for the pulls. Good to meet both of you in person.
