--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a long trip ahead of me w/ my 2004 X2 and single axel MC trailer and want to have the correct spare tire/rim with me. Instead of paying $500 for the alloy rim from MC, where can I get the correct steel rim replacement?

I know it is a six bolt patter, but Tirerack was asking me questions re: the bolt spacing and the diameter of the center bore.

This thread was great, but didn't answer my question.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks - J

I have a single axle 2002 trailer. The bolt spacing is apparently standard for trailers with 15" wheels, so I went to a local Goodyear tire store and they got me a crappy looking white steel wheel with a Marathon mounted on it no problem. The tire store guys knew this, the Tire Rack operators maybe not.

FWIW I wish I would have purchased a new or used alloy, then I wouldnt have to cover the thing with a black cover. Check the marketplace here there were some for sale last week. If you don't cover a cheap spare, it really makes the rig look 2nd rate.

I went to discount tire and bought a chrome rim for about $35.

You might want to check with another dealer. I bought an the factory aluminum wheel and tire from my dealer (TXMC) for $350.
