2001 205V Propeller Squeaking

I just bought a 2001 205V X Star Package and about a week after running it the propeller started to squeak when it stops.

Happens when I go to idle in forward or reverse...the propeller coasts to a stop and as it slows down to a stop...SQUUEEEEEEEEK.

No other problems, just kind of annoying...any ideas?

Sounds like your prop is not seated on the shaft. My 1998 Prostar manual had a proceedure for seating the prop to the shaft using seating compound.

The squeaking is likely coming from the propeller shaft strut bushing. Either it's worn, or your shaft is out of alignment.
