its a misconception that things are in the imperial system, everything has been messured in metric for decades. IE. if you were a woman and asked to be pulled at 34mph you'd do a reride because the actual speed is 55kmh which = 34.2mph.
Its an international tourny so they score in IWSF format. if they didn't you couldn't set a record...
the rope lengths are inaccurate when you talk about "35off or 28off" - if the rope were actually 35off 75' you would be disqualified for having a rope that was not within spec. All the ropes you buy anywhere in the world are looped using the metric system. in fact "15off" is not acctually exactly 15off - it's actually slightly more.

for the record there is only 1 system in place in the US. Americans and the world alike just call it differently. its the same system everywhere.

lol I'm skiing slower and not a woman so no! :)
36.04mph = 58.0km/h - that's the only place it comes within a few 1000s of lining up. still 36.0 is a bit slow, but shouldn't cause a reride. I know the PP units on the nautiques north of the border are in KM/h speedos in Mph.. so confusing

i knew the speed was meant to be metric, but was unaware of the take offs on the rope. guess you learn somehting knew everyday..
so if my calculations are correct i am actually attepmting to conquer 28'3" off !! :D

the lingo standard is still using the "28off" in the rest of the world too.. don't see that changing.. saying it in metre's is kinda lame, but that's the actual length of the ropes.
when someone runs 43off, where is the next loop? 9.50m-44off? surprised nobody has come up with that yet. what if someone runs it in a tournament? people are running 4@9.75 55km/h.. its only a matter of time.
Im sure that more countrys in the iwsf use metric system.

i actually saw a rope advetised awhile back that had the 44off loop. i imagine its been removed since 43off is taking awhile.

I'm not sure but I think Wade took a step away from competing and is running the H.O. team. I know he still skis as we spoke with him before the Open.
It's also possible that he skied and didnt make the finals not sure either way.

A replay of the webcast is available: http://www.webcast-tv.com/sports/index.asp
Wade apparantly has a nagging hip/ groin injury which is why he didn't ski.
