Had to do a little bit-Buffed her out, rescreened the dash, new mirror, shined up the new interior, new rubrail, electronic ignition, detailed engine including a custom done air filter housing decal.

And yes she is now also for sale. It is just a rumbleing cornering beast on the water, besides being so so hot.

no slotWho told you that?

Slot as in tranny or the hull?

Nice looking machine. I have one in store identical to it, other than I replaced the carpet last year with gray. As for my personal preference, the gray made the boat more pleaseant to be in. All of the red / black wore my eyes out.

I buffed mine out earlier this year and got a lot of oxidation gone. That too made it a different looking boat.

Again, a nice looking machine.

Power slot.. tell me about please?

Tranny or hull, of which are you referring?

Removed photo. Not my thread... :)

Again, a nice looking machine. Good job.

I believe the rated HP for that 351 is 255 HP. No big deal. The one I have tugs like a mule anyway, with the same engine / tranny.

I think it is 260
If thats the case, then the flame arrestor cover is misleading. PCM motors with the Proboss designation had GT40 heads and were rated at 285-300 hp. The 240-260 hp motors didnt have the HO heads.

Nice looking boat though!

However, the 1:1 tranny (described here as no slot) did not come with the HO engines. They were married with the standard output at 255HP. I'd trust the tranny package more so than the arrestor cover.

The HOs (as OEM) were coupled with the 1.52:1 gears.

Well leroy what would you like to know-No it was not an option but there is an interesting story as to why "porn bob" is on there and as for the mag article it is summer 05 Star page 9. Also I had a sign shop do up the decal on the arrestor however the original one on it when I got it was labeled proboss but the tag on the tranny is 1:1

All right I will do my best with what I know. The boat was originally purchased at Waterports Marine in MI by a very nice guy ( I have spoken at length with him) by the name of Mark Spencer. It pulled the Bowling Green U ski team for four years moved to FL and then back, he owned it for 14 years. He did the major resto on it-hand sanded, re geled etc. It one best of show at the MC reunion in Detroit in 96,99,00,01 he then traded it to Mike at Devils lake water sports in Manitou beach MI for a SD 209, he was going to keep it for display in the showrrom but years later ended selling it to the owner I purchesed it from here in WI. That owner completly redid the interior and kept it so clean. He purchased an 25th boat and sold me this one-I heard about it through the grapvine. I picked it up and did the rest of the detail work and the finishing touches and thats about it. This is my 06 the 85 and my new 07.

I have a 1983. That year came with the wood varnished dash panels, they ar weathered and I am trying to find dash panels from an 84-86, or a way to have them made. This is possible?

Good luck finding a orginal dash. My orginal was wood grained plastic and it faded and split in the corners. I was going to make a new aluminum dash and have it silf screened, then I decided to go with 1/4 in. thick oak plywood.

Roonie-I considered it for a minute and wanted to see how the pricing stacked up. I went and rode behind a new VLX and I will say they had some high points but the combo of distance to dealer, resale of Malibu down the line, not as good a rough water ride and most important- my relationship with Redline and all the folks over there I just could not do it. So I am going to consider an X Star that RL has for next year-IF THE PRICE IS GOOD!(hear that Pauly) Its big league time!
