does anyone know if i can convert a PDF file into word so i can change a few things.

If you have adobe distiller, I think you can. That is, you can just copy it into a word document, edit it, then rerip a .pdf.

If you have some insight on this I would appreciate that information as well as I get PDF docs all the time and need some way to get some of the data into a text or spreadsheet file so I import.

We use PDF Converter Professional by ScanSoft. It works pretty well and retains most of the formatting in the original document. Although if there are a lot of tables or foreign characters, it will not do as well.

Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and up has this conversion to Word as a standard feature.

You can do this in Adobe like Sporty said, but if you have a document of any length, it will normally freeze up on you. This software that I am using has done documents with literally hundreds of pages.
