finishing the garage with the new Craftsman cabinets and work bench...and if the temp is good tomorrow with this high pressure system, boat is going for a run and the dry suit will probably get used but the wind has to die down some, right now it's coming off the lake at 18 knots.

Get up early Saturday and sort through my cold water equipment to find dry suit, cold water gloves, booties, head gear - and wait for my buddy to call at 10:30 to hit the Boulder Res in Colorado today for the first ski of the 2005 season. Water temp 46 degrees, but air in the 60s and sunny. Three other ski boats with us - it's great to be back in the saddle!!!

Andre',
I just bought it 1.5 weeks ago. It's been 'wet' but it only has 56 hours on it. Stumbled accross it by chance and got a great deal. Put it in storage yesterday for a few weeks. It felt like I was sending a kid off to summer camp. I miss it. Realisticly, I don't need to put it on the lake for 2-4 weeks due to my schedule. The fellow that runs the storage place said another boater took his out a few weeks ago. Thought it would have to get really cold for several days to be a threat. anyway, he now is the proud owner of a boat with a busted block. I told the guy that it doesn't take 3 days for water to freeze. I hope this guy isn't a science teacher! Probably works for the IRS.

Well Guys and Gals:

I got numbers 1,2,5,6 and 7 done. Darn rain. I had to sit on the front porch, watch it rain, play 42 and listen to music most of the weekend. There is always this weekend.

I vote we go to a 5 day weekend and a two day work week. Anyone with me?

I got the boat de-winterized this weekend. All I have left is to oil the teak.

Painting, measuring and installing. Cased out windows and doors at the lake, painted a wall in the soft suede paint by Sherwin Williams, measured and cut base and shoe on the home front.

How 's the feel of that paint? Is it textured?

BriEOD

Let's not even talk about painting...I've been painting all dam day since 6 am. I absolutely hate this sh@t. Worst chore known to man!

dmac
03-07-2005, 04:06 PM
It is very slightly course. It is not a textured paint as I know them. There is something about the composition though because after the first coat, rolled on, it looked terrible. The second coat is brushed on, in "X" patterns and it looks great. I will put up a couple of pictures tonight.

It is easy to do and provides a really warm feel to the room. We did it only on one wall.

Here are a couple of shots of the soft suede finish. Also added the cedar window & door casing as well as the base. I will be continuing that throughout the room.

I got out of chores last weekend.

Spent it at Think Tank. WWSF annual water ski convention in Oconomowalk. Three days of seminars on all disiplins of water skiing, and two nights of way too much drinking. :toast:

Was able to buy a boom at trade show for about 50% of retail!:D

Last night my wife was looking through a home improvement sale add and pointed out the “finish” she wanted in the entry, Ironically, she picked suede.
