Who many boats were put up on shore?

I heard of 3 total that made landfall.

The 2 in the first picture were on different nights. The one on the right, a Donzi, happened at about 10:00pm Friday night. He was trying to stay to the left of a boat on his right. That boat he kept left of was actually a camper.

The $130k Baja on the left was following his GPS trail around midnight on Saturday night I believe. Apparently, it wasn't a very accurate GPS.

originally, I thought the lake had fallen to an amount that left them on shore.....
but these guys drove aground???

if that's the case, they're idiots for driving that fast in the dark!
look how much distance they traveled up hill!

gotta be going fast to cover that much ground

reportedly, the lower of the boats was doing 45 mph. The baja must have been doing 60 or so.

They had the Poker Run split into 5 speed groups as follows.

<70 mph
70-74 mph
75-80 mph
81-90 mph
90+ mph.

I saw a few boats that probably topped 100 mph. We were out there in sailboats Saturday with the helicopters flying over us and the boatins flying past. Kind of crazy.

Cumberland is down about 40' from normal levels. GPS may not have picked that up.

Either way, going that speed at night is suicide...........
