Hi there

I was wondering if also the MC boats sold in the states are equipped with a catalyst. Over here, since 2007, you only get the engines with a catalyst.

Thanks,

voegi

They all have the ETX/CAT catalytic converter system for cleaner exhaust. You can see the specs at the Indmar home page.

Hi Roonie's

Thx for your fast reply.

What's nice to know is that with the catalyst, there is more (or at least the same) power by less fuel consumption. Just thought of sharing my experience since we're having some of them over here (MCX).

They do not all have CATS or EXT manifolds...Only the MCX engine has CATS, and no L-18 has EXT manifolds.

Indmar site says by 2009, all engines will have cat's. I might of been on of the video I was watching on their site.

My bad..... only the RTP-1 and MCX have the ETX/CAT manifold according to the Indmar web site. The LY6 and L18 do not.

I have not seen CATs on RTP in 2007 or 2008.

Why does the 5th line down under general specs on the RTP say it has both the CAT/EXT exhaust system??

Found here at Indmar web site. Is this false advertising?

My 07 310 doesn't have any stickers on it either but I was thinking it was marketing driven to get you to upgrade to the MCX as that is what is advertised in the 07 dealer catalogue. They hype up the ETX/CAT system for MCX. When I did my own research between the two engines I found the RTP had it too according to the Indmar web site (you know the source you would think you could trust since they make the actual engine). I might have made a different choice on the engine. Oh well its done.

roonie, my 07 had the low emissions sticker on it on the port side under the front tower mount. had to remove it because of location of registration number.

just fyi, my old 05 supra with a 325 hp indmar had the same sticker.

why indmar states that on their website is unknown to me.

I know that the CARB regulations are coming and they will apply to most boats produced after Jan 1 2008 in the U.S. Depending on application and/or destination the company which uses the engine may have a choice as to what engine they want to buy from Indmar. Quite a few companies use Indmar and some end up outside of the U.S. so several variations would make sense.

I'd sue...

If you read the CARB ratings only the MCX has a 4 star rating...all the others are 3...no CATS. My guess is that it was a typo done by the web designer, but you should be able to collect millions on the law suit.
