I am shopping for a Prostar 190. Budget keeps me in the late 80's to early 90's. I have heard the '90 to '94 is the best run. Experienced the pull behind a '93 and loved it. Wondering about the '87 to '89 models as well. Hardcore slalom skier no wakeboarding. Any input?

Thanks.

94-97 IMHO, you get great wake and EFI. 95-97 is less spray and a little better tracking also.

91-94 a 94 will get you fuel injection unless you find a LT-1 in a 93

Some feel that these are the best hulls ever produced by MC

I have a 91 and had an 87. Both have great wakes but the 91-94 has less spray than 87-90. The hull was the same from 87-90 and then 91-94 the hull was the same, but different than 87-90.

One of the reasons I sold my '90 was the spray. It really hits you at 28 off and beyond and at longer lines if going into a strong breeze. Nice wake though.

I'd go with a '94. Never skied one but I hear the wake is awesome, no spray, plus you get the FI.
In fact, when I sell my boat to pq2 (;) ), that's probably what I'll be looking for.

Depends on the budget. Hard core slalom then go 91-94 which is considered probably the best MC slalom hull ever. The 87-90 hull was great but as said above more spray. If you are looking to get into something in the $8k range then the 87-90 will be a great boat at a low $$. If budget permits find a 93 with the LT1 or a 94 for the fuel injection but you will pay a pretty hefty premium for those from what I have seen.
