I have always been a loyal Barefoot Int customer, but two weeks ago I got an Eagle suit and so far I like it. It glides good on the water and fits well. I think you will do well with either one.

I'm wearing these-
Intensity Rocket Barefoot Suit

Eagle KSO Team Extreme

All the Vortex suits are good too.

Get something without sleeves!

I love my rocket suit. I use it for my hardcore footing. I use my Eagle for showskiing/jumping. It's a great all around suit!

I wear an eagle suit that is a couple of years old now and I love it. Still in great shape also.

I've had a couple Barefoot Company suits, as I need a large tall. I just ordered a new one from them, they've been sold to a new company but i love their products

The Razor. On their web site it is listed as $359 but they were $200 at footstock. If there are any ski tourneys coming to your area, the deal will make the drive worth it.

Tex is right with the " no sleves" coment also. Much easier to get on and off.

I have 3 BFIs (2 sleeves and 1 sleeveless), 1 Eagle, 1 Intensity and just bought a Vortex.

If you are just learning, I would suggest those with the most padding.

If you are a more experienced footer, I would get the one that feels the most comfortable but still has enough padding for protection.

There were a couple of threads a while back discussing barefoot suits so I would suggest doing a quick search.

I just got a great deal on a vortex storm - thier middle of the line to replace my bright orange spiderman 1980's Intensity suit. I see very little difference in the padding of the two suits. The vortex suit has some nice features - like the reinforced crotch, below the zipper. This is the spot that my Intensity suit was failing.
I would call Lake Elmo watersports - they usually have good deals on the vortex suits. I found mine at a sporting goods store that must have had it for a long time.

I have had an intensity for the past 5 years and it has stayed in great shape. I will be looking at either that or an eagle for the coming season. For some reason it seems to have shrunk and I did not even put it in the dryer.

I'm not a fan of Vortex = China made BF Suits ( mentioned this many times before)
even if it is Scarpa that endorces 'em.

I've owned everything from homemade Levis BF Shorts, BFI, (2) Intensity's and (3-4) Eagle BF Suits but my next one's gonna be an Iron Man BFI Suit ...

Why?
Just look and feel one on and you'll know the reason!
Good Luck w/ your search :)

The new BI's are a totally different suit. At the 3 event barefoot tournaments this year there must have been 40 new people that switched to BI from other suits ! I have worn them all from Dolphin, ski warm,Intensity, eagle, vortex, and Barefoot International. I'm sticking with the BI suit !

Here is a picture of my Intensity Rocket suit. I love the thing. I have and do own, dolphin, O'neil, Ski Warm, Eagle, and Wet Tech. I have also worn countless other suits back when I was skiing. I cannot remember several makers that were good. I would still stick with my Intensity or Eagle.

Not a huge fan of the Vortex.

I can see why people love the BI stuff, it's TOUGH!

I've got a few Eagles, love them all. I would say the BarefootCompany stuff is very similar to Eagle.

A few buddies have Intensites and no complaints, I've never worn one.

Still some Dolphin/WaterWorks suits around, old technology.

O'Neill makes great wetsuits, not sure how well tuned into the barefoot skiing needs though.

WetTech, all I see from them now are 3-event bags and comp vests.

I've got a soft spot for anything CASAD, surely there are better built suits out there, but nothing beats them in the looks department!

Nice variety seen here on Erk's boat last year.

I personally own 2 dolphin/waterworks suits, my wife owns 1. Have several friends who also own them. They are great suits & will last you a lifetime. The customer service is excellent also (I only needed it because I bought a suit for my wife as a present, but it was the wrong size:o ).

I have a BFI and blew up the zipper with a fall last season. (Mind you the fall was bad enough to give me a black eye and a blood blister on my lip).

This season the little black panel that comes around your hips separated from the rest of the suit.

I want to say these suits are right around 20 years old. There is a glimpse of Erk's Creamsicle in the bottom of the pic.

For reference...

So if I attach more than 1 file they won't show up on their own?
