Just got an 07 X2 that came W/O a bimini, The boat is a slider in turn bouy orange and white. My dealer asked me what color I wanted, well of course my 1st choice was orange!! but they don't make it in orange!! So my only other choice is white!! They just called me to tell me it's in but it's not pure white it's a linen color??? Why don't they make the tops to match the color of the boat ?? Or at least make the white the same color as the white on the boat?????

These are supposed to be the BMW of boats you would think they would go that extra little bit to make it right and not just "close enough"??

Unfortunately MC only makes them in a few basic colors. I say get your money back and order a custom bimini from www.johnsonbimini.com (http://www.johnsonbiminis.com) or www.towerbiminis.com (http://www.towerbiminis.com) Sunbrella makes an orange fabric if that is what you really want.

I know this doesn't help much, but they used to do white.

Ok so I understand your frustration However MasterCraft dose not make the Bimini's. They are contracted out. The Co I think is Apex and that Co only offers a few colors.

Thanks for the heads up, this comes down to the same thing every time , the dealer will get stuck with the top. As a former dealer I know how the parent company can leave you out to dry. I used to race at Roger Penskes Track and got to know him , I hope now that he is in control that Mastercraft can live up to the HIGH expections they set!!!!

I don't mean to be a cry baby , and I know it would be hard to match every color but come on WHITE???????

Hmmmmmmm...... Looks like white and orange are the way to go. If I were in your shoes, I would do what Brian said and hit up TowerBiminis.com. I would do something like the attached file.

Thats my boat, white and orange, The cover is black and I guess if I had to I could use black. The service MGR emailed me a picture of the top and it's tan for sure. I asked if they come in grey? anyone know?

Right now I'm not in love with tan , I don't want to be a pain in the A$$ but when they asked me what color I wanted I said orange , no Orange then it came down to Black or white , but the white is tan????

If I knew what I know now I would have gone black, don't get me wrong Sterling marine has been great and I don't want to stick them with a tan bimini !! But I don't want it either

forget the tan I say go with black since orange and white are not available.

I got red to match my red X2. If they didn't have red I would have gone with black.

ditto what ronnie said. i have the black and it looks great.

just a little info from the past, i had a gray bimini on my "old" 05 supra ssv and i hated it. it looked so bad with having a black boat cover plus it showed all dirt. i ended up having a local shop redo the gray with a black sunbrella and it really looked nice.

i will say this much. mc rocks with their bimini's. no straps and very sturdy.

I was just brain farting around, but I did come up with something. Why not get the white bimini from the dealer... say buy it at cost. Then, go to you local canvas shop and have them take the canvas off the MC bimini and use it as a template for an orange Sunbrella bimini? Seems like it would be the best of both worlds, plus Sunbrella is a far superior product to Sur-last (MC'c Canavas). IMHO!! :D :D

Thats a thought, I don't even know how much the bimini was, It was included in the deal, The cover is black and the boat has some black on the tower . I am going to ask for black , but if I get stuck I may go the sunbrella route

Sarah at Sterling Marina just emailed me , I'm going to go with the black. The cover is black and the tower has black on it, I found a brand new 2006 bimini in black on Ebay but it won't fit an 07. Still hard to fathom that they don't make white ?/ Which could be put on ANY color boat. Black will be fine, I will try to post some pics........... when my son shows me how ...LOL

Black will be perfect for you. Only up when you need it. It's not like its a permanent part of the boat. You could always customize and upgrade later. You will love the bimini.

Black and have it cut and modified to add an orange and white stripe down the middle!

I have the linen, check out my photos. It is definitely tan. Goes nice with my tan boat though. You would not want it.

Don't get me wrong the linen color would be OK on a Tan boat , But my point is the pure white could go on ANY color boat. I wonder if Mastercraft would ever think of having a customer advisory board??????

You know take people with Mastercraft baots that are a few years old and get feedback on what they like and what they would change. I would LOVE to be on that!!!!
