hey everyone, just curious if there is any way of finding a new/used dash for my 87. after 20 years the rubber is starting to give and crack, even with treating. any help would be great.

Here in the Marketplace, e-bay and boat salvage yards will be your best bet, as they are no longer made.

Not that I know of unless one of the older dealers just happen to have one laying around collecting dust, like Rambo Marine.

Are you just getting cracking, or are you having issues with the screw holes to affix to the backing? If it is purely cosmetic, I have seen some folks have the dash covered in black truck bed liner. It turns out very well and saves you from having to search for a part that is difficult to find.

I pack cracks with black silicone used to put windows in cars to do the application I place masking tape over the crack, cut the slit with a razor blade then I push it in the crack, and peel the tape and buff the edge.

I have an '87 TriStar and I found a guy named Steve in Wisconsin that used to be an MC dealer and he still has original parts. I bought a new OEM windshield from him earlier this year and he told me he has some dashes that would fit my boat. Do not have his information with me, will post it tonight when I get home.

The place with the dashboards is Kustom Parts in Elkhorn, WI. His name is Steve and his phone number is 262-743-1008. He should be able to help you.

Does this happen to be Steve Smith?

Thanks,

Yes it is. Do you know him or had dealings with him. I had been looking for a windshield for 2 years finally find him and he was great to deal with.

He had windshields for my TriStar which is a one piece plexiglass with no frame, which is different than your boat.

Yes. Steve use to own Lauderdale Lakes Marina just outside of Elkhorn, WI. He has not owned the marina for probably 8-10 years now. At the time they were a high volume MC dealer. The marina still has the same name but no longer carries MC. I bought my first MC from him. He is very knowledgeable on MC boats and when he sold the marina he probably had a stash of parts that he took with him.

Thanks for the info. I will be contacting him for some parts that I have been looking for also.

Take care,
Prostar Rich
