I'm new to the TMC forum and just getting back acquainted with the MasterCraft product line. I was looking at the sweet 2008 X-2 "photo shoot" boat on another thread and it shocked me to see that there are no fins on the keel! Where did they go? Is this the case for all of the X-Star / Maristar boats? Why / When did they do away with them? By the way, I have heard that the X-2 is a pretty good slalom boat. Can anyone confirm this?

Maristar has never had them. It was thought they are a deeper V hull and don't need them. At least that what they said in the late 90's

Phoebe... Tina Fey... who's counting.

X1, XStar still have the tracking fins.

Other boats really don't need them, X2 and X15 track well on their own.

fins are great for saving the prop. In my old nautique, I hit a rail road tie floating just under the water and it bent the front fin around like a J. No gel damage and $55 later for a new fin, it was as good as new. In my X1, I hit something small that left a faint mark on the front fin, but never made it to the prop. Fins are great.

I, like many others have "developed" an affinity for Pheobe. The Cars song "Its so easy" during that movie made the grade for me. For the period she was the hottest thing on the planet. I still dream she will show up at my door naked. Oh wait no I don't but I think I should put it in the lineup LOL

Which movie is that? I remember her from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and the pool scene....don't recall if there was any music playing....:D

My X-1 has them. Also the X-Star has them. Those are the only X-series boats. And i think all of the prostar series has them.

My PS190 has them... Needs them - such a shallow boat. My X-15 doesn't... and is a much deeper and heavier boat. the both turn on a dime!
