Crash, sent you a PM back. I watched the marker buoys float down river all day today. The river won't crest until Thursday if we don't get any more rain. This is not good.....it could be Sept. before they open again! To top it all off, the chain of lakes is flooded and no wake so we can't even cruise up there :(

Cbryan...I'm not good at this...way too many IO's to name.

My neighbor keeps his boat at the Broken Oar and was told it was about to float away off the shore station.

Other neighbor just bought a Tahoe boat last week and hasn't been able to put it in the water yet. :( At least he can't break it on his driveway. :)

If your neighbor still has his boat in the water at the Oar, he will want to pull is ASAP, and no later than tomorrow morning. The water came up over the piers at the oar this evening while we were there. They are expecting it to rise even further, so his boat will definetly be going for a ride.

This water is putting a damper on the skiing and wakeboarding. I am going to go down to the IL river this weekend to ride. Any one know if that is open. Was at the Oar an hr ago saving my lift motor, only 3" from the water. Now saving the electrical box monted to the lift is another story. I am sure glad I got my boat off the lift on Mon nite. The tower light was poking through the canopy. I had to add all the ballest and extra to get it from under the canopy.

I saw one boat floating off the lift. It was tied to the lift, but it was up close to the grass and turned sideways on the lift.
The carp are swiming on the lawn and having s*x, ain't that a b*tch.

With the water being so high, we could get a good wake off our wake board boats, but I don't think that the people on the river would want our rollers coming into their living room.

Guys, sorry to hear about the water situation.

Just thought that I would mention that you can always take a drive with your boats down to Cedar Lake, appr. one hour south of Chicago, 14 miles south of me.

I have never seen it close due to water levels.

Eric,

Got any pics of this?

You all are welcome up here in the Great Lakes State. Our River is depth controlled to let those downstream suffer, not us.

I was out this morning until the Thunderstorms hit:rolleyes:

I talked to the owner of a campground on the upper Dells. She said the water was low all year and they just now got a nice water level. I am going there this weekend, since my lift on the Fox is under water. I am so stoked to be able to go boating again, seems like it is the beginning of the season.

Flew into Ohare last night and saw some of the flooding while on approach. Unreal. Hope things settle down for you guys. Maybe next time I'm in town things will be back to normal!

Too Tall,
Did you make it out to Clinton Lake last weekend?
I am thinking about going down there, the Fox river was still rising as of Sunday. Went to the Dells over the weekend, was nice to get out on the water.

Paul, looked at some charts/graphs and they are saying with no rain the lakes may be open for the weekend.

Too Tall,
I don't think I can make it this weekend, I have to help someone move. Wish I could though, missing the boarding time the last few weeks. Were do you camp at, do they have spots for motor homes? How's the launch, and do they have any docks.

Looks like were only going for saturday:mad:  I was kinda looking farword to a few days down there.... oh well.

I usually camp at Mascution camp grounds
Yes, the have sites for RV'S.Plus all sites have electric picinic tables and a fire pit.
The launch is nice, two wide and its a free launch at Mascution. And there is alittle resturant Boondocks (great bacon cheess burgers) at Mascution.
There are docks at the camp grounds but, you can't see your boat from your site.So we just trailer them back to the site each night. Its not far maybe less then 1/4 mile.

See ya at MM3

Thanks for the update, were looking to get down there this fall and ride some of that warm water, or any water that is not flooded at this point. Boat has been siting on dry land far to much in the last couple of weeks.
I am looking forward to MM3 it is coming up soon.
