These are circa '87-'88 can't really remember. The jumping picture is when I was first learning. I lost the one where one ski is pointed up and the other one was down. Haaaa. Real quick. Is it normal to get the butterflies in your stomach everytime you put on jump ski's and the helmet? :D

The barefootin' one was the same weekend we bought the boom for the 85 S&S Prostar 190. I had died my hair on some drunken spring break thing. Damnnnn it's orange. Oh, that was Lake Maggorie in St. Pete. FULL OF ALLIGATORS!

Picture of the lake and homemade jump is Lake Breckenridge in Hillsborough County. Deed restricted for skiing but once all the houses went up around the lake they said it was unsightly and made us take it out. Njoy. Wade

Lake w/no houses. We ended up turning the jump around after realizing we were cutting ourselves short on room. Either way we had to start from a dead stop at either end and real quick start pulling to get on track for the jump. Man, I miss these days!!!!

Great shots Wade! You were brave skiing in Lake Maggiore. I grew up in St. Pete and I used to see Big Boys swimming in that lake! After college, I lived on Lake Seminole for about a year and saw a bunch of big ole gators there as well! Anyway, thanks for sharing the pics. It reminds me of my neon wetsuits and hot pink shorts i had in high school (also the 80's) I even had the neon zinc oxide suntan lotion! Oh the memories!!

I knew you all would hit on the shorts. That's my good friend Dave, the owner of the boat. Yeah, we used to drive around the lake during our beer break and just count them big lizards just sunning themselves. I think I remember counting 15 one day. Good ole Lake Seminole. Another nast shallow lake, but you know what? If we were skiing, what did it matter?

Gators don't eat waterskiers.

Thanks for sharing, wade. Makes me think we need an 80's pictures thread. :D

I still don't get how you FLA guys can ski with the gators. But I guess it's better than not skiing with gators.

John, to be honest, they DO NOT bother ya and go the opposite direction. All the years spent in Lake Maggorie down in St. Pete and no issues.

The picutre of the other lake had one gator, but he suspiciously died of lead poisoning.

Unless it's mating season I've been told.;)

Still nobody will tell me how you know when mating season is over.

If I ever get to FLA to ski, the first run will definitely make me nervous. Seriously.

A lake with gators is still better than a lake covered with ice!!8p

Trying something new. I hope this pic comes out.
http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb188/ewildsmith/Random%20Pics/Randompictures217.jpg This was at the time, the worst wrecked MasterCraft in the history of MC. It was an 88 Prostar that hit an oak tree while pulling a barefooter on the boom. Amazingly, no one was hurt too bad. No Insurance! I wish I could get this pic bigger.
