View Full Version : proper prop for 7,000 elevation

I have a 91 maristar 454 that has a 541 13 X 12V prop on it now. At approx. 7,000 feet elevation lakes I hit 4300 rpm WOT. from what I understand I should be at 5k WOT. I don't care too much for higher speeds, I am more concerned about bottom end. The prop I have now pulls really good, but is there a better option.

PM TT member, EJ OJProps (Eric) or call 1-800-359-9730. He is usually on here early in the morning, trying to answer questions such as yours, look for his answer here too.
I'm running my boat near that elevation and Eric at OJ just sent me out a different pitch to try and see if I like. I'd definitly recommend him after he spent quality time with me on a phone call discussing altitude vs. pitch theory's.
