What the heck! We have two lakes here and they both have problems!

Toxic algae, don't swim in Geist....http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070811/LOCAL/708110486

Morse lake really getting low already....http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070811/LOCAL/708110484

Leroy,
Are there any other lakes we could visit? I was looking on Google Earth and saw Summit Lake is around an hour + away and also Raccoon Lake. Do you think they are low also?

Leroy

I need the WHEEL option on my boat or have to get a toxic material suit.....

Raccoon lake is good, about 1.5 hours away, Brookville is about 2 hours, Monroe is 2 hours away, Cumberland is ~4 hours and Dale Hollow is 4.5 or so.

Oh yeah, Lake tippy is 2 hours and Steve lives there!

I'm bumming about these lakes :(

THIS IS DEPRESSING! I have been wanting to visit some of the other lakes but I need to get a Lake permit.

WOW!

The Geist Lake Marina says it has replaced about 300 boat propellers this summer after people hit debris along the bottom of the reservoir.

Leroy:

What is Dale Hollow like? How about Patoka Lake?

Leroy
08-11-2007, 06:32 PM
Dale Hollow is like heaven! Big, deep, inlets the size of my lake here. But at ~5 hours there you really need to think about that trip!

Patoka is pretty good also, I think 2.5-3 hours from my house. I was just looking at rental places on that lake.

You guys need to head north to private water with a ski course and 4 miles of flat 14 foot deep water...

I'm going out for the 5th day out of 7 in ten hours....

I was out on Lake Lemon ('bout 1 hour south of Indy, north of B-town) and the conditions were great. Low traffic and good water. Lots of MC's.

Leroy

I hope to go to Mag Mania.

Lake Lemon is pretty small and doesn't it have a 20 foot limit?

Hey you goof ball fellow Hoosiers,
Let me just say if you guys would like to take the mere 2hr pilgramige north to Lake Tippecanoe, I would pay your $5 ramp fee if your would like to bring your boats, not to mention a beautiful, deep, natural lake that felt like bath water this weekend... How can you guys pass up a deal like this???
This next weekend you are all invited, we, meaning my wonderful neighbors have planned a cookout Sat night, I have a 3 bedroom home with AC, running hot AND cold water, a fridge, grill and a liquor store near by, so how can you say I would not want to be there??

Michael, I am disapponted in you, I made this offer to you weeks ago at Kroger???

Come to Lake Tippy goof ball Hoosiers...you will enjoy a clean, beautiful lake and would always remeber your stay....guaranteeeed...
My buddy with his beau this weekend.....I love the lake

Super nice offer Steve! I have to get my son back into IU, we pick him up Sat. I would love to do this one weekend.

I took my boat to Tippy once last summer and the lake is great.

That looks even worse than our sanitary and shipping canals. And I wouldn't put someone else's boat in that stuff....
Sorry to hear.

I hope this isn't the lake you were considering buying that lot under the high power lines.....

Leroy

It is the one that is down 5 feet now. The docks on the property I almost bought is sitting on rock and dirt now.......

Leroy

THe water is 15' deep 30 ' off shore.

Leroy

Leroy,
thanks for giving me a preview of what our GA lakes are going to look like!

Leroy
11-20-2007, 09:19 PM
Lanier92prostar; the water is normally 3-4' there and the lake is down 5', not quite as bad as the GA lakes, but still makes me sad.
