I Have An 89 Pro Star 190 And The Steering Is Getting Tight In Spots. Is There A Simple Remedy For This? Anyone Else Have It Happen? Where Do I Start First At Fixing It? Can I Do It Myself Or Do I Need To Take It In To A Shop Somewhere?
Thanks Guys

I may have the same problem with my 93 Prostar 205. At around 3\4 of a full turn we get a jerk or catch that you feel in the wheel. Interested in other responses to this issue. My guess would be greaser up ? But were having to much fun using it lately.

I have a similar problem with my '87 TriStar but it seems to be related to speed. At 20 MPH it is real hard but at 36 it is easier. Any suggestions. I have greased the rudder.

My steering was really hard on my 2001 205V, I replaced the cable and oh so smooth ever since :)

I would check the steering cable first. It more than likely get progressively worse.

I seen prices from $140-$200.
Snaking the cable through is the hardest part. If your floor comes up easy in the back behind the motor it may not be too bad.
Have a helper to snake the cable through (NOT your wife).
TIP: BE PATIENT...snaking the cable can really try your patience!!!
