I don't recall seeing a thread on ski jumping, so I thought I would start one.
On a visit to McCormicks many years ago, as you can tell by me vest, wetsuit, skis and hair color, I attempted going over the jump about a dozen times. I actually landed on my feet and rode away from the ramp on one attempt. This one was not it. If I remember right, on this jump I went in head first.

Since I started by showing how not to jump, lets see some more photos. My guess is there are some out there. I bet Tex has some good ones.

Which is you TEX...closest to the camera?
The one doing the cut under or the HELI?

Helis splits and cutunders are no problem. I'll leave the FLIPPIN to the other 3 or 4 that I am out there with.

SORRY... I have a dealership to run on Monday mornings

oh yeah! landed on, been landed on, taken out on the jump, otf, otb, landed on stage, put arm thru handle, thrown up on the way to ramp, tips in on gainer(herman munster stitches), and locked up too may times! just to name a few. i still say shortline slalom is more dangerous!

Tex,

You're an animal. I'll just stick to the course. I'll watch as you fly by at Marine Creek

That has to be a whole new category of face plant possibilities!

A guy I ski quite a bit with during the summer (71 this year) has a real nice scar from breaking his Femer on a ramp! I have to say - if I ever get the chance to try jumping..... I'll have to pass!
