I am working right now a little south of Yellowknife at an oilsands mine (headed home tomorrow). This mine I understand sells diesel to Diavik and Ekati. My company also sells mining trucks there. I haven't been yet though.

Lance watches it when he can. Those men are crazy. I don't know if any amount of money is worth your life. They do make some unreal money for the short time they do it. We were checking it out online and it details all the money each trucker has made, some of them are making millions. I was suprised at how close to the artic circle they were. I didn't think it ever got warm enough up there to melt the ice. Guess I was wrong because you can see the boats on the shore.

You would think they could figure out a way to land C-130's on land near the mines. Alot of that stuff could be hauled year round that way vs. the Ice roads in the course of 60 days annually.

I only watched it once and for only a short time because there was something that i normally watch on but from what i saw it looked like a really cool show. Lots of danger though with shifting ice and what not. Pretty Dangerous!

I love the show, but I cannot stand the narrator's voice.... just something about it! I guess it was just his voice in the nine dozen motorcycle shows that just got to me!!!

They should of hired somebody like Mike Rowe from Dirty jobs and Narrator for the Deadliest Catch. He has a good narrarating voice but then you know that could be conflicting since Mike proboly has somthing with Discovery and History channel is kinda, almost, not really, the same thing.
