1985 S&S, Took the boat to the lake only to find the boat won't start.
Turn the key to on position, all guages light up & work. When I turn the key to start the engine I hear a click near the rear of the engine & everything goes dead! After waiting a few minutes the the same thing occures.
Seems to me I worked on a breaker mouted on the rear of the engine a few years ago. Can't remember the symptoms.
I have no clue when it comes to electrical issues.
Please help! Thank You!!

Have the battery load tested. There's a big difference between voltage and available current. Also, clean the battery terminals and clamps, the ground at the back of the motor and the contacts on the solenoid, where you hear the click. Make sure they're all good and tight (don't overtighten) and clean.
