I am looking at buying a 1995 Maristar 200VRS. The price is very attractive and the boat has low hours..
Could anyone give me opinions on this boat in general and also any "gotcha" things to look for when buying this boat.
I plan to use it for Skiing, Tubing for the kids and basic wakeboarding (I will put a tower on the boat and while I am no expert wakeboarder a decent wake would be good even if I have to add fat sacks)
Cheers

I have the same year, but a 225VRS...I love it!
The wake is a bit small compared to many other hulls, but it is the exact same as the x30....if you can add weight it will throw as big of a wake as you need. I have the 275hp engine and it takes a lot to get out of the hole when weighted...
Buy it and enjoy!
I had a 94 225vrs and its a great all around boat. Throws good clean wakes. Fat Sacs help. Its a EFI boat with with no wood in it other than some of the interior panels. You could probably go to a 4 blade prop and increase performance a little. Great boat for the family and prices are right!
Yes i just got one my self. I love it as an all around ski boat. She does have a little coark. Some time she will start to porpas, well just back off a lillte till she settles down then go again. I'm thinking about going to a 4 blade prop when we a fully loader, just to help get out of the hole. All the dealers around me couldnt care less about helping us ge shop mamuels for it. Idmar carries a good engine manual. But if anyone has some info on the trany and v-drive that can be scaned and e-mailed, it would be greatly apprecrited. be sure to check where the ski pole attaches down in the hule. We found a crack down there that we are going to try and fix. If anyone has good knolage or knowhow on how to fix this, I would be forever indept. If you need the indar manuel i think i can get it scaned for you
