Way cool 87. I taught my daughter the same way at about that age. The part she liked best was the "superman" turn at the end of the lake when the boom and swing went way up in the air.

i'm gonna play around with the boom height and handle length to give her more slack when her feet are on the water. what do you guys think?

87, when you're teaching this way, make sure her arms are always straight out on the boom (as opposed to being bent at the elbow) as the boom gets lower. This is a pretty safe way to teach. About the only thing you have to worry about is her head (face, teeth, lips) hitting the boom if she catches a toe, especially if the swing/boom is a little lower. This can't happen if her arms are fully extended. Not an issue with the high boom you have here, but as you lower it remember to tell her to do this. I'dd add slack little by little until she get to the point where she is skiing solid on her own weight, then get rid of the swing all together.

I have to tell you look were his sons feet are, they're way out in front of him. Something to remember, I'd hate to see them catch a toe right off the bat!!!

edit : And don't try it with the sling with the above method if that's what JohnnyB is talking about below!!!

What happens if she lets go of the boom.....will she come out of the handle she's sitting in?

I'm assuming if she let go you'd chop the throttle but the boat has got a way to coast........

thats what this is all about getting young ones interested, barefooting is almost becoming a lost art on some lakes

when she lets go of the boom she has just fallen out of the handle. i haven't had any close calls yet, and hopefully ever.

i'm gonna play around with the boom height and handle length to give her more slack when her feet are on the water. what do you guys think? It's more about the positition of the height's boom when using an BFI Easy Footer.

thanks atl, i knew there had to be an easier way instead of adjusting both boom and handle.
