I just bought a 2004 x9, My question may be a little late seeing that I already bought it, but... This is my first boat, I have only been wakeboarding for about a year now, whats everyones thoughts on this boat? I did jump on it but that was beacuse of the deal I got on it. Others in the family waterski so I figured it would be good at both. Or atleast good to learn on!

It's a great family boat. It will do it all but not as good as the more specific boats. Of all the events I think the wakeboard wake suffers the most. It's really hard to get enough weight in the boat to make even an attempt at a world class wake.

It surfs really well.

Quite a few people on here are not huge X9 fans. Most feel it is a great wakeboard boat but the slalom wake is a little larger than preferable.

I tend to agree, but I love mine. I usually take alot of people out and it handles the folks - we have a blast. Getting my 4 year old daughter up on a walkboard is priceless.

If I empty the people out, get some gear out, and am not full on fuel, I think the slalom wake is ok, but not 197 good (of course).

I think you will enjoy it.

My brother has an 04 X9 and it's a great boat. You can't beat the room for a direct drive. As for the wakes, it's good for everything. As long as your not looking to set world records in slalom the wake will serve you well all considered. And the wakeboard wake with ballast I think is excellent. Enjoy the new to you boat...Pics would be good.

Great looking boat, even better price. You did pretty well in my estimation. How many hours on the boat.

Welcome to the board. :wavey:

Very nice boat the surf wake is very good and the wakeboarding wake is mediocre I have yet to slalom behind one yet (The opportunity has been presented though.)

It had 460 hours on it when i got it, it was used for a skiing and beginning wakeboarding school, the only one to drive it was the instructor, and it was VERY well maintained mechanically. lol the trailer has less than 50 miles on it since the shop was a block off the H2O. I am adding tower speakers and a better sub this weekend and a bimini top next week. like I said I couldnt pass it up for the price.

We have a 2002 209 with a tower and it has been a great boat. We purchased a fat sac for the reat this year and will get one for the bow locker next year. With just the rear sac it has improved the wakeboard wake quite a bit. My 10 year old is jumping the wake now and loving it. I barefoot quite a bit and it does fine for speed, slalom wake could be better, but @ 34 mpg and 15 off it does fine. You will have a lot of good times on this boat - with a lot of people and gear!

Great price, great boat. Let's face it, when your learning how to wakeboard this boat with the proper ballast can take you up to advanced. If you feel the need for more, go with a wakeboard specific boat. I enjoy the all around aspect of my x-9 and believe me you can FLY behind this boat.

At this point I can jump the wake and do a very uncoordinated grab... So far I am very happy with the boat. I will post pictures after I decorate the tower.

Great boat-you'll love it. I have only foiled and jumped behind one. At the risk of getting jumped on-MOST people who complain about the slalom wake need to worry more about their skiing and less about the wake. As I said-MOST!

I just sold my inboard , but I must say the surf wake was not that bad, I had a supra with a wake plate and a rear ballast, try putting 2 or 3 people on the port side or starboard whatever you surf on , then decied if you need ballast bags, That is one very nice boat best of luck with it

Custom front ski locker sack 500lbs
Under rear seat 375 lbs
Rear locker 600lbs
Two fat buddies, 280 lbs each, one between the engine cover and the rear seat, the other on the floor on the surfing side
couple of skinny teenagers
gets me this wake (the kid surfing is 6' tall)
