I have been a proud owner of a 79SS I purchased brand new in this model year and still own this craft...

I have been looking to upgrade to new tech and features in a more roomy, up to date ride....

At the lake, my next door neighbor on one side own a 24' Supra Launch...he has complained and pointed out to me the rusting screws on the tower speakers, the sloopy welds on his tower, not to mention other nuances that will never please this guy about his boat...

My next dooor neighbor on the other side, just took delivery on a new Malibu Wakesetter, at least that is what is plastered all over the side of the boat. He has been voicing his concerns about the front ballast in this open bow boat, when it is full the boat takes on gallons of water over the bow, the engine, Hammerhead 383 seems to be okay but the serviceablitly area of the engine seems to be lax at best.

My question to you earnest, biased owners, what should I look into as far as a well designed, care free, reliable boat that in my best dreams will give me years of joy and happiness as an owner with a faboulous slalom and barefooting wake???? .. I am lost and conflicted.......

I think you have the best of the 3 boats you described by far.:D
The only one that comes close to your 79 is your 1998 ProStar 205.;)

Slinky, keep the 79!!!!!!!! KEEP IT!!! well, unless you sell it to me!;)

just kiddin, really man, keep that fine ride. a newer "ski" boat aint gonna give you any more room unless you go bigger like a 214 or X series. keep it. that ride is sacred! I skied Behind Jimmy Stephens 83 MC last year and that boat is like butta!!!

Keep it!!!

The GSA has some tugs at auction for civilians to buy. Paint one up and apply MC decals and you've got a real work boat.
