I always considered the horn on my boat to be a joke. Its mounted under the bow and can barley be heard by even the driver.

At one time the "water cops" in my area were giving a hard time to all the inboard ski boat. I replaced mine, but it is still a joke.

How loud is yours on a scale of 0 to 5?

My engine is louder than my horn. If they don't hear me coming, they won't hear me beeping!

My horn sounds the same today as it did 18 years ago and that is what was installed as std. equipment, so it must be adequate by the NMMA at the time of maunfacture. I do carry a whistle and a air horn as a precaution.

Mine is loud for the driver and people inside the boat, but not sure anyone else hears it.

Maybe it should be asked who thinks they ever needed a horn?

In the 96 prostar 190, the horn is mounted basically right at your knees. If your fumbling around for something and you hit that button, you might have a little mess to clean up. Gets me EVERY time.:eek3:

Its also fun to "accidentally" hit the horn when you are teaching someone to drive..... Man do they jump..:jumping: HA HA

You mean the horns as part of HLCD tower speakers? Really, really loud then.

I think TooberTom said these were standard on the '08 Tubestar. They are mounted to the tower.

I removed my horn so there would be enough room to mount the heater!:firejump: :firejump:

I had to beep it for the sherrif today, he seemed satified.
The engine was off and he was standing next to the drivers seat.

Zero begin the worst, to be fair to my horn probably 1
If, we were able to attach a wave file to our post - you'd be able to hear it for yourself.
