This last weekend, my boat turned over 500 hours. I'm not real sure how to feel about that. On one hand, I've gotten a lot of use out of it and enjoyed it very much, on the other hand it's like when you turn over 100K miles on a car, it's all down-hill from here. I know it's just a number, but I don't like it. What are some of the hour meter readings from the rest of you here?

Naw, cars go much farther. 100K to me on a car is like the half way mark on their lives.

Just about ready (easily by the end of the month) to roll 400 on mine. I think I am at 390 right now.

650 is the magic number to me. I will trade this one before it gets there.

CP................As long as you keep up with the preventative maintenance your MasterCraft will last longer than a bar of SOAP.........
Just saw my old 98 ProStar yesterday..........Still looks like new and running strong with 556 Hours on it.............I've already put 120 hours on my X-1............Going to put on a lot more next week.............Taking it on vacation with the family............:woohoo:

1025 Hours on mine....BTW my truck has an hour meter and at 60,000miles it shows 1700 hours. I would guess a pretty good portion of boating hours are spent at or near idle so 500 is just breaking in.

2000 X-Star 615hrs and still purrs like new. Take care of it and it will take care of you. Spend a couple bucks on the front and it will save you $$$$in the end.

My hour meter hit the skids at 650 right after I purchased about a year ago. My guess is about 700 HARD hours have been put on the boat and it's still pulling strong!

Captain,
If it makes you feel better. My last vehicle (05 cadillac Escalade) that I traded in had around 500 hours on it. There was about 15,000 miles as well. So maybe this will put that # in perspective. I know its not a boat, but the motors are generally the same, and the load on your boat motor is less.

Im sure you have Nothing to worry about! Dont forget... You did buy a MasterCraft!!

yep, over 600 on the 01 xstar, stay on top of the preventive stuff
and should be no probs!!

The hour meter kind of bugs me. A little too much emphasis on it IMO. Not for a boat that does nothing but pull. But I for one do a lot of very low rpm cruising. Along with some serious towing. So my hours are not giving the same indication as someone else's. Likewise, a used boat with very low hours sounds pristine, but there is a point I believe where less is less. Sitting for years is sometimes worse than high hours.

2002 - 209 just hit 400 hours yesterday - Look's like it's time for an oil change!

No big deal. I had 900 on my 92 PS 190 before I bought an X7. Small pinhole manifold leak at that time - but otherwise really strong and problem free.

I have about 490, should turn it over to 500 in the next week or so.
